When I was in high school, a friend of mine asked a surprisingly thought-provoking question about the "larger-than-life" kind of dreams he tended to have: Why did he not go home and "just kind of hang out" at the end of his dreams?
While my friend's thought doesn't make sense in retrospect, the fundamental idea recently came up when thinking about video games. Games are often grand, important adventures in which players guide the protagonist so that they will "save the day." Sure, games like Heavy Rain (http://www.joystiq.com/game/heavy-rain) introduce interactive, albeit mundane and arguably trivial tasks like brushing your character's teeth. Not being tasked with saving the world isn't a new concept (http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/28/editorial-im-tired-of-saving-the-world/) by any means, but one might begin to wonder if being a large-scale hero is the starting point players have come to expect.
That's why we should be happy for webcomics like the ones you should totally read below, and then vote for your favorite after the break. They usually celebrate the small stuff in games!
