Front loading NES flap poping out

Hi,

I recently bought a used front loading NES and it seems to work quite well. However there is a small thing that worries me. The title might not be very clear, but I'll post some pictures to help explain the situation. Basically, the front cover flap seems to be wanting to pop out on the right side. However the black bar that starts at the control plugs and makes its way to the top covers the hinge for the flap so pressure is exerted upon it upwards, causing it to bend and I'm afraid that it will eventually snap.

Has anyone else experienced this before, or would know how to fix this (or at least prevent it from worsening)?

There are horizontal posts on the right and left side of the door. The post on the right side has probably broken. You can order a new one off eBay and replace it if you are comfortable with unscrewing the console. There are probably tutorial videos to help as well. Let me know if you have any questions. When you talk about horizontal post, do you mean the edges coming out on the sides like in this image?

Or is it part of the NES's body/frame to keep the above pins from coming out (if there is such thing)?

There are metal brackets inside the NES on each side that hold the posts in place and allow them to rotate.
