Sega Saturn PCB Chip (SSIC8B) A+B

Has anyone ever had any problems with the SSIC8B chip after bridging the A and B points on the chip? I haven't attempted anything yet, just want to know before I pickup a saturn and start soldering, I'm thinking about trying this method because it looks really easy

when your installing a SSIC88 modchip into a sega saturn, instead of soldering the A point on the chip to one of the signal pins on the motherboard. You can simply bridge the A and B points on the chip. Just wondering if any mod chip people in here have tried it and know if it works?

I've never tried the A-B method. Is there any particular reason that you plan to do it this way? Afraid to solder to the Saturn chip?

Yes the A+B is fine just be sure to put the voltage on the 5v line and not 9v that would fry the chip.

A+B method is easier to do and there's less chance of a wire becoming loose in the future.

It just looks like an easier method, i'm very new to soldering. Thanks for the feedback I'm going to give it a shot
