Need Some Help With Playstation 1 Audio Problems

I just pulled out and hooked up my PS1 that I have had boxed away for some time now and I am having some audio problems with it. Everytime I put a game in to play, their is no audio for the intro or cutscenes of the games but their is sound being played for the in-game portions. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Could be dirty laser or disc clean the laser with q tip with a bit of Windex on the q tip is safe.

I tried cleaning the laser. I even tried changing out the laser with another laser and it still does the same thing, no sound playing on FMV / Cutscenes only. I thought it may have been the laser but after changing it out, I think it's something else. Anyone have any clues? Thanks for looking.
