I have a model 1 genesis without the license screen. The problem is the right side of the screen shows a red tint. Checked all the caps and solder contacts and didn't find any bad connections. Anyone ever hear of or seen this? Any suggestions or ideas as to what the problem may be. The motherboard is V2. Looked for a schematic online but could not find one. Thanks in advance for any help.

To pull a cliche: it could be the caps right before the video encoder.

What are you using for a video signal? S-Video, Composite, RGB?

The problem show up on Composite or RF. Not sure which one is the video encoder.

Have you tried it on multiple TV's to see if it does the same thing? Have you tried a different cable, tried it with the 32x? The only way to see if it's the encoder is to get an RGB cable or try it with a 32x since it has it's own encoder that uses the RGB signal from the Genesis as well as it's own to produce an image.

Don't have rgb, only rf and composite out. Looks the same. Any ideas?

Not sure which one is the video encoder.
The video encoder is the Sony-branded chip underneath the heat sink. I'd recommend performing a total recapping but you could try just replacing the caps around the CXA1145 first.

Meaning the whole board? Are there any kind of lists of all caps needed or is it a diy type job? Thanks.
