I saw this article and thought it interesting. Anyone else see this game called HERadventure? A game that involves fighting global warming? From reading the articles, it looks like it may be computer based, but I could be wrong.

Complete waste of money because no women 18-25 would play a game like this in the first place.

The backstory of HERadventure begins when HER, a warrior woman and inhabitant of Earth’s sister planet, comes to Earth to investigate why it is causing her native planet to freeze and slowly die. HER discovers that the auras of Earth’s women are diminishing. Consequently, Earth and other parts of the universe are negatively impacted. HER enlists a corps of “superheroes in training” (HERadventure users) to take meaningful action and offer solutions to issues such as negative self-esteem, discrimination, eating disorders, and depression, which are causing women’s auras to suffer. These issues are dealt with through visual metaphors in a 3-D environment. HERadventure users “teleport” through various levels of the gaming experience by using social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook, with a goal of helping the superhero save her planet and ultimately serve as catalysts for positive change in the virtual and real world.

Technically that's not even needed, in Captain Planet the heroes were chosen by Gaia who was the spirit of the Earth. It's really weird how close this new plot actually follows Captain Planet, though I guess the whole concept of choosing super heroes to save the earth as a team is a really tired and overused cliche.

Haha! Well, it wouldn't surprise me. First of all, this isn't the only game which was funded, there were a handful of other games too which got funding. And second, those giving out the funding isn't a publisher, but rather a governmental organization that grants funding to art projects.

What a shock that the only good game the US government made is one that involves war.

This just proves that all four parties involved have terrible ideas and false perceptions of each other.

On the plus side there doesn't seem to be any violence involved in this game....if you can call that a plus.

That might have worked several years ago, but these days green flattop mullets are totally out of style and not seen as "hip" by the 18-25 year old target audience.
