Recently I got this nice Sharp CRT TV for classic gaming. The screen is okay, the only big problem with it is in the back. The coaxial input is missing, and in it's place, there is some odd gunk. Anyone know what might have happened?

The previous owner broke off the RF terminal when yanking out the cable, tried to glue it back in and realized the connection would not work without soldering inside.
No big deal, you can use the other connections from a dish or cable box. Use a VCR to transpose an older console RF signal.

If I had to guess, I'd say someone pulled it too hard and ripped the connector right out of the tv, Very easy thing to do on some mid 90s tvs larger than about 20" That gunk is probably glue from an an idiot who thought that gluing the connector on would fix it. My dad once did this to one of our tvs. Except he didn't do the glue thing.
