I bought a Sega Genesis from a shop while visiting my uncle's house. The games worked, although usually it would take a hit of the reset button. After buying more games, I came back home and tried to play the Genesis. Some of the games that played at my uncle's house will not work on the Genesis, as well as some of the games that I bought after visiting his house. Sonic 2 works perfectly while some of the other games won't work at all. I've tried blowing on the cartridges, blowing into the system, and wiping the cartridges with a q-tip and the ones that don't work still don't work.

It is a generation one Genesis. The store has a 30 day return policy so I can still return the Genesis if it doesn't work, but I'd rather that be a last resort. Thank you!

Buy a naki eliminator for it. It works miracles on finnecky carts.

I use mine on all my stuff and works great

Sounds like it had too much ToeJam and Earl played maybe ;)

Seriously though I get this every so often on my Model 1. Usually its just the contacts on the cart and a quick clean takes care of it. Have you looked closely at the contacts? Might try using some rubbing alcohol on the Q tip and maybe scrubbing the slot a bit to clean it up?
