From IGN:

Monolith Soft, the developer responsible for the Wii's sublime Xenoblade Chronicles (and the rest of the Xeno series), is creating a new RPG for Wii U. It might even be a sequel to Chronicles - it looks extremely similar in terms of art style and combat system, going by the footage shown. But it's in HD, of course, so it looks even better. The trailer's final 'X' definitely suggests we're looking at another Xeno game, even if it's not a direct sequel.

I for one am really excited for this, I will be getting a Wii U the day this comes out. I wasn't expecting an announcement from Monolith Soft anytime soon. It looks like it's going to be very similar to Xenoblade, perhaps even a sequel. Anybody else really excited by today's news?

Definitely excited about this. I'm about 60 hours into Chronicles and have been enjoying every minute of it.

Because one is about a niche RPG that provably hasn't much to talk about outside of "I'm excited!" or something about gameplay issues, while the other delves into the stupidity of humans and is an actual topic.

I want a Wii U so bad, but I have to get a PS3 first. Ill definitely buy this when I get one, and the first game if I can find it for $35 or so.

Yeah there's not much else to say at the moment unfortunately, I figured a few more people would have chimed in by now though, Xenoblade is my 2nd favorite game of all time but I'm probably one of the very few that got obsessive about the game. I guess I could start a wish list for this game:

- Better inventory system
- Little better gem system
- Easier to compare 2 pieces of equipment
- Little more variety with the sidequests
- Any sequel will probably not have the same geography but I was very disappointed with the Mechonis, was hoping for a mechanical version of the Bionis' topography. Hopefully this sequels' areas will amaze me all the way from beginning to end.
