Is there a better GameCube Mr Driller game or should I buy this one?

I thought there was just that one released and I believe it doesn't work with Freeloader either. :(

It does work with Freeloader... it's just the game refuses to save to anything apart from a "genuinely formatted on Japanese hardware" memory card...

Every game I have does the same thing. If I have been playing JPN games then try to save a US game it says I need to have a properly formatted memory card. I don't use the freeloader so I'm no help there!

That's because you need a separate memory card! Japanese memory card format is different to US/UK format. The BIOS can't read the format of the other "region", mainly because the Japanese BIOS has all the symbols etc in it, and the English BIOS is just the normal romanji alphabet...
So in conclusion... one card for Japanese saves, one card for US/PAL saves...
As for Mr Driller, it won't even save on a non-Japanese Cube through Freeloader onto a Japanese memory card. It HAS to be a Japanese Cube the game is running on. The ultimate way to prevent all importing there...
