My special friend sent me a package of chocolates two PS2 games, and make up for my mom and sisters. Final Fantasy 12 froze or crashed after the second guy died, I really didnt understand why the captain killed him, he was your character. Any way the other game she sent me is GTA San Andreas, and I suck at it. She said Im not doing a good job because I dont play real games, shes so dismissive of the ones I love that are older. Oh well, I had to reload my game so I could finally get back to CJ's house.
Sandbox games to me are dumbed down or deconstructed RPG's, that isnt a bad thing per se since some RPG's really cater to the obsessed dedicated types. Im not liking being a black dude who beats up hookers for money and weapons, I really liked playing Shadowman, that was a really cool black protagonist. I really like the bigness of everything with all the radio stations and you can go all around the city and not wait for load times when you enter a new section. Right now Im liking just running all over the place and not doing missions. The characters arent letting me care for the plot. They should have gotten Spike Lee to help with stuff, not take over the whole plot but he would have made it so the media wouldnt have had an easy time making older people not like it. I played a little of Vice City NINE YEARS AGO, sheesh, so I knew the games were fun so the things people said about it I didnt care for since they seemed to blow it out of proportion.
And I wish the combat would be like you run up to people and hold down L2 and press the normal buttons to do soft and hard kicks and punches or shoot and stab, and press R2 to switch weapons. Its so clunky with only one button to attack. The driving mechanics are so much better than im IV, I have no idea what they were smoking when they changed them, I gave up playign a friends copy after 4 minutes.
