Can I get help with a list of SF games that came in the long black boxes. Also any Marvel, Capcom vs, Marvel fighting and Mortal Kombat games. I have never seen one until my Alpha came in the mail a few days ago. Thanks in advance.

I really dont get why Sega CD/Saturn/3DO and early PS1 games came in those over sized ugly boxes. They took up so much shelf space compared to the Japanese Saturn games and normal sized cd boxes. Does anyone know why they went that route?

"Longboxes" on music CDs were created to reduce the risk of shoplifting as they were too large to be obscured in pants/shirts/jackets/small purses.

Probably some correlation to that historically.

I like the long box and it looks like there is only one from the list and I have that one. Thanks

These 2. Street Fighter Alpha and Street Fighter: The Movie. So I'm missing 1. I think.

Street Fighter Alpha came in 2 variants of the Long Box, MK3 just in 1.

Marvel anything was only long box on the Saturn side.
