NES Suggestions, something like m.u.l.e or North vs South

Two of my favorite NES games that I have discovered recently are m.u.l.e. and North vs South. And I'm sure these aren't the best versions but I'd rather play on the NES then emulating on a computer, Especially with a friend. So are there any other games kind of like those that are any good?

Interesting criteria. As far as strategy/simulation games with a faster pace, a strong multiplayer component and comparatively streamlined gameplay, the first that comes to mind is Gemfire. It takes place in a self-contained world much like M.U.L.E. and North & South, but there's more of an empire management angle and battles are turn-based. Despite that, Gemfire moves along at a decent clip and it's a game I've had a lot of fun with. Alternately, you might enjoy something like Archon (plays like an evolved chess) or, hell, even Rampart (much more arcade-y).
