View Full Version : New Color for 3DS XL?
Has anyone heard any news about a new color for the 3DS XL
I really want one but i hate the 3 color choices. I will
buy one when they introduce a more adult looking version
any news?

I wasn't aware Red and Blue weren't 'adult' color schemes.
Ok, not to insult anyone who likes the red or blue ones
but,
I think they look more like toys than say a black one would
i am hoping for black, white, or brown

The only thing I don't like about the 3DS is the multicolored stuff. The red and black and blue and black are alright. They contrast each other better than other colors would, but I'd rather have solid blue, solid red, solid black, etc. I'll get an XL and sell my 3DS when either Cosmo Black comes out in the west and/or there's a good enough sale.

I liked the metalic look of the original smaller 3ds systems. I dont care so much for the almost matt finish on the xl's but I dont find it to be an eyesore or anything. As far as other colors go black would be great ig they used a finish that wasnt a finger print magnet and had a nice high gloss look to it. It would also be cool if it had a red or blue led light band around the whole thing that would glow when it was charging.

New colors are easy to come by. bought a 3DSXL during the bestbuy sale and wasn't a huge fan of the blue so I bought these instead.

You can find the cases all over ebay and they are pretty cheap at around 10-15 bucks a pop, they aren't glossy so they don't leave fingerprints easy but have a cool metallic finish since their really just painted pieces of aluminum. The ones that I have are molded well so they fit snugly but have a coated felt underside so they metal doesn't scratch the 3DSXL's surfaces. They don't really add any weight or thickness to the system while protecting everything but the hinged area from scratches and dings from general use, they come in a ton of colors too if you look around.

I bought the red 3DS XL and dropped it on the asphalt so it scratched some of the red on the top and it looked like shit so I made my own custom one

I think that looks cool bro. I tried to picture it with the decal flipped from how you have it and in my opinion I think you did it right. To each their own though...

Nintendo is releasing a Pink and White XL for Valentine's Day.
Actually, they're re-releasing it. It was available during the holidays last year through the shopping site Gilt.com. You had to buy it with a pack-in game though and it was still more than MSRP from what I recall.

I don't have one, but with there are enough games out/coming out that I now plan to get one. I honestly don't care too much about the colors, not going to look at it much while playing. Mostly I'm excited for a new Mario and Luigi and Luigi's Mansion 2.
