I dont know if this topic is legit since its about TEH ROMZ
Anyway, who knows about some cool SMW hacks? Ive recently played Ketchup Adventure, Return to Dinosaur Land, and Bowser Rampages Again. I must say these hacks are incredible and Bowser Rampages Again could legitimately pass off as a sequel to SMW. Its that good!

Ketchup Adventure (Silly premise and in game text, but very fun!): http://youtu.be/mGTPaTpN-oM

pretty much anything listed here is worth playing.
Also, everyone knows that Brutal Mario is tops as far as creativity and originality go; adds new bosses, new level effects, even new powerups!

List of 22 hacks: http://www.romhacking.net/?page=hacks&game=714
I did a repro of Return to dinosaur island. Very good stuff, a bit on the easy side (no more than the original) but still very professional.
I also did a repro of The Second Reality Project 1 and it was very enjoyable as well. The main problem is the last stage, I can't beat it. I've thrown hundred of hours on it, it's not cheap hard, but it's definitely too long (we talking more than 10 minutes IIRC) so I always die at some point. Very frustrating :P but the rest of the game is top notch.

I'm about halfway through Super Mario Omega and it's been quality all the way so far with clever hidden exits and "secret" levels.

Our forum member DDCecil did a fairly good hack from what I've played and is also worth a look.

See, I mainly use that site, and I didn't know about some of the better hacks that have been brought up in this thread. The problem with that site is... well, every other site. I think fan sites want to have exclusivity, so those of us who go to romhacking end up not knowing about a lot of hacks. Hell, there were all sorts of Sonic hacks at Sonic Retro for years, and it was at the end of last year that they started showing up at romhacking. Also, there seems to have been a recent upswing of Streets of Rage series hacking: http://soronline.net/main.htm

I think Mario hacks are the greatest thing ever. I love a good mario game. I'd recommend Demo World, Brutal Mario, Mario's Strange Quest and Second Reality Project1(snes version). Those all work on a snes with a flash cart. If your playing on an emulator check out Super Mario Infinity 1&2.
If your looking for mario hacks this is a great place to look~ smwcentral.net, it's a shame that most don't work on a real snes :(
I'd love to know of a yoshi's island hack that works on real hardware, but i'm too scared to take the risk of requesting a repro made.

I don't know which version of Reality the guys in this thread have played but I just started the Reloaded version and it's really, really good.

If this version is possible on cart I'd LOVE to have it.
