kube00 writes "The Wii U has been struggling as of late. Even Nintendo has admitted sales haven't been as high as they would like. So what went wrong? Is this just a fluke? Will the Wii U recover and bounce back? Will the PS4 and the next 360 come out the door and leave the Wii U in the dust? GoozerNation takes a look at some of the NPD's and speculates on what it all means." http://a.fsdn.com/sd/twitter_icon_large.png (http://twitter.com/home?status=Is+the+Wii+U+Already+Dead%3F%3A+http%3 A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2FZEpLrW) http://a.fsdn.com/sd/facebook_icon_large.png (http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fgames.slashdot.org%2Fsto ry%2F13%2F02%2F25%2F176204%2Fis-the-wii-u-already-dead%3Futm_source%3Dslashdot%26utm_medium%3Dfacebo ok) http://www.gstatic.com/images/icons/gplus-16.png (http://plus.google.com/share?url=http://games.slashdot.org/story/13/02/25/176204/is-the-wii-u-already-dead?utm_source=slashdot&utm_medium=googleplus)

I stopped buying Nintendo consoles because I got tired of there being only a dozen or so games that I really wanted to play in its lifetime. And honestly I'm tired of Nintendo releasing updated versions of the same games over and over and over every time they release anew console.

The same could be said of almost every gaming franchise, but Nintendo seems to be the only one to get criticism because of the industry's ingrained historical animosity towards them.

They seem to get more shit for not remaking the games people want, or remaking them poorly by dumbing them down or outsourcing them to some nitwits.

meh, this is just my personal opinion but I stand by it.

I don't have any animosity towards Nintendo, I just feel that I grew out of their core franchises like 20 years ago.

But anyway, I really don't think that the other consoles do it nearly as bad. Nintendo basically makes a living making Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Kirby and maybe to a lesser part Kirby and Metroid games. Every time they release a new console or hand held it's almost an afterthought that most of these games will be rehashed for the launch or soon after it. I really can't think of a franchise that Sony or Microsoft relies on and saturates its users with as much as these titles.

Just curious but why do you feel that the industry as a whole has an animosity towards Nintendo?

Don't forget Kirby!
