Im seriously not trying to raise issues, push buttons, nor do I think its even funny. My question is whats the big deal about this?

I went to a gamestop that I hardly go to, where an old friend works. When I walked in, she was kicking this group of kids out and I didnt know why. She explained it to me when I asked but still didnt understand.

I did you tube searches and all i could find was these dorks harassing employees about battletoads..... but i still dont see why its funny. Anyone got the story about this? Im sure its just an internet fad, but Im just curious. (And no im not going to jump in on it, im too old for lame pranks.)

Yeah, it's a running joke that started on 4chan and has probably spread to other places. Call Gamestop and ask to preorder Battletoads II, record response and upload online. Been going on for years now.

I dont know why, but Gamestop employees really hate it when you mention/ask for battletoads. Ive seen people seriously flip out over getting asked for battletoads. Ive seen gamestop employees outside of Gamestop flip out over the issue. I really dont know why, but for sole reason they feel like people are fucking with them

Yeah infact thats what caused this to blow up like it has. If you go on youtube there is a huge listing on people who called them about that and recorded it. I think one of the earlier recordings someone caught rick in a very bad mood and he basically told them to go fuck themselves and hung up. And i think thats when it blew up basically because ya know everyone gets a rise out of someone elses aggression like "yeah what you gonna do about it man.. I live a thousand miles away"

This is pretty much it. I was actually on 4chan at the time. It originally was for trolling each other - I can't even remember why now - and then it became fashionable to ask GameStop employees it "for teh lulz".
