Anyone else excited for this Wii U/3DS exclusive? I've always liked the earlier Lego games, and this is the first open-world game with Lego. The story seems pretty cheesy, but the gameplay really does seem fun.
I may pick it up if it's good, been dying to get something good on my Wii U.

It feels like (at least from the previews) that it's Grand Theft Lego, but from the cop side, not the crook side. I've got some hopes for this game to be a good long open ended adventure.

Second Lego open world game actually. I've never played it, but I heard Lego Batman 2 was an open world game and was less Batman, more Justice League.

Nope. I'll stick to the non-exclusive titles that allow me the freedom to play the game in a way that doesn't annoy the piss out of me.

Exclusives are what sell consoles, in fact with Nintendo, it's their own double-edged sword.

I know. Doesn't change that I favor multi-system releases. Particularly since I own all three, I can see how a given game plays on each system and pick the one that annoys me the lease (which normally ends up being the PS3 version).

im looking forward to it. just preordered it yesterday. i was a day one wii u owner and accept that lately launches come with slow lulls in software. (i love my ps3 but it had a slow launch too.) looking towards this, wind waker, wonderful 101, bayonetta 2, rayman legends (yes, im still butt hurt over the delay) and the slew of rumored/ obligatory first party games. plus i hear retro studios is working on some stuff and a new ip.

I haven't played it, but apparently the 3DS version isn't as good as the Wii U one. Shame, especially since it's a prequel and fills in the story of the Wii U version.
At least they made this one use the Wii U features enough that it probably will never be on another platform.

Sad, but unsurprising. I find that if there is a version of a game available on more than one system and one of those systems is a handheld, it's the lesser choice as far as quality.

I am/was interested but I just can't seem to make myself buy it. I'm so burned out and disgusted with GTA and the clones as they bore the crap out of me now after a couple hours. This looks like cop GTA to me so I just can't pay for it.

I'd assume most would be burned out on the fact that it's a Lego game rather than a GTA game. The Lego games play way too similar to each other that regardless of their slight similarities it's the same boring game as Lego Star Wars.
Not trying to sound offensive, but next time you play a GTA or GTA clone, play through the story rather than just driving around killing people. You'll probably enjoy it more. I'd recommend The Saboteur, GTA4, and Saints Row the Third for PS360. If you can find it for cheap, I'd recommend Scarface the World Is Yours for Wii(or PS2.) Scarface actually dissuades you from going around on a shooting spree because similar to the movie, Tony won't attack innocent civilians, and if you kill police, once the bar fills up, you're screwed. The missions in Scarface are better than any GTA game or GTA clone.

This. I had written off the GTA series from the start for being violent nonsense. When I actually sat down with one, I found a surprisingly engaging story behind all the hooker killing hoopla.
