Slightly inspired by the Every System Ever thread I have a fun idea for a game.
I will name a video game console, the next poster must name another video game console who's name starts with the same letter as the name the previously posted console ended with.
Example: Intellivision --> Nintendo Wii
Here are the rules.
1. You can't post twice in a row.
2. A console name can't be used more then once.
3. You must use the OFFICIAL FULL NAME of a video game console. No abbreviations or common shortenings of names. Like 'NES' or 'Genesis'. Its Nintendo Entertainment System or Sega Genesis.
Addendum: Rules modification, you may drop the manufacture name for 5th Generation consoles and beyond. So Dreamcast, Playstation 2, etc... is cool.
4. If a name starts or ends with a number, you may use the number itself, or the English spelling of that number to determine the next console you post.
5. You can post variations of similar or identical hardware if its has a unique name that hasn't been used yet. (Ex: Sega Genesis/Sega Mega Drive)
6. You can post consoles that were never released in North America. But if its very obscure you must post a link proving its name/existence.
Edit: Clarification. A 'Console' is any stand alone computer hardware meant to play video games. This includes portable systems, single game consoles, educational 'computers'. This does not include electronic handhelds like Game & Watch or
the like.
If the game comes to a halt because nobody can think of a follow up, the game is over. The last person to have posted something is 'the winner'.
I'm honestly not sure how long this can possibly go. So if it turns out we can only get 6 degrees out before hitting a wall, or something, we can look into revision the rules or something.
