Okay, so I'm aware of the fact (have been for some time) that Sega gave Majesco the go ahead on publishing some of their games near the twilight of the Genesis years. Notably the rereleases of Sonic 3 and Vectorman among others- the carts are made with a different plastic, the labels are of a less glossy quality, all from the goodness of Mexico.

What I'm wondering though is if the truly late games like Vectorman 2 and Sonic 3D Blast are only available in their Majesco iterations.

And a question to the collectors looking to complete their Genny library: Do you bother with the Majesco stuff at all?

Hmm..I believe my Sonic 3D blast is a SEGA made copy, but I'd have to check.

So far, I haven't -- I'm trying to find as many originals as I can. If it came down to either taking a Majesco release or not having a certain game, I'd easily make do with the Majesco -- it's at least a strong facsimile of the original.

As for your theory on the late releases, that's an interesting question -- that I sure don't have the answer for. ;)

The only Majesco release that was not a re-release was Frogger, so every other game they published was previously published by the original company.
