I hate to be a spoil sport, but why are we giving this guy traffic? Ridiculous auctions like this should be ignored, not marveled at.

Hey... did that top red "Nintendo Entertainment System" banner on the box become standard for NES games post SNES?

I offered for $35, because: "I'm taking off some $$$ because I have to use a hammer to smash through that ridiculous plastic casting."

Satoshi exactly. Just another case of VGA molding more future gouging of games going forward as we all know games now are hot commodities like precious minerals and oil. Slab it, post it, kids go to college, buy a house, and a car. Play a game?! Naw, that's crazy talk. :)

As stupid as it is, I dont know, let the guy/girl make a couple thousands dollars off people who have weird monetary measurements of valuing their childhood with. The crash is going to happen soon, so let the person who buys this get a big cold slap in the face in a couple of years.

I hate to bump such a silly thread yet again, but since you're asking something that's unrelated to the topic, I feel it's justified.
Around the end of 1991 (after the SNES had come out), Nintendo switched NES box design and also a good number of NES labels with a red Nintendo Entertainment System banner. If you are not familiar with the games of the twilight years of the NES, this is an indication that the game is probably uncommon, among the best looking games on the system, and in all likelihood, valuable.
