Ok, I have been collecting games and systems for a while now. Yesterday, I was re arranging my games and I actually wanted to start playing some of them but I dont want to start connecting and dis connecting 20 + systems. Now I here a lot of talk on here about emulation and ROMS and all this stuff but I have no idea what any of this stuff is. I was in a retro game store and the owner was telling me about this service where he would take an old Xbox1 and put 1000 games on it. I never even thought about it but now it seems like a good idea, I can continue to collect the games and now I can actually TRY and play some of them. I dont care if they are %100 perfect with sound and color but I just want to be able to start to play some games. NOW............i need advise on this situation.

Main difference is older games need to be scaled to at least 480i. Xbox as I understand, basically lacks official 240p support.
I don't think online discussion of ideas to implement it has found success yet.

Yeah theres a way bigger group of people making emulators to run on an original xbox than making an emulator for the games on a computer.
I got an xbox this past week and Ill get it softmodded to run emulators as well when I have the money and find the right person to do it. I do all my emulation on my computer, and I have a usb controller and a ps2 contoller adapter wit ha usb out that Hyperkin makes.
Heres a great site for you to go to and learn about emulation http://fantasyanime.com/emuhelp/index.htm
How much is he charging by the way, is it a hard or soft mod job?

He was charging $150 and I have ZERO knowledge about modding or emulation so I couldn't tell you...sorry.

Dont do it. Id think a job like that could be about $50, its a pain but its simple if you know what yorue doing. I guess hes doing a hardmod so he needs to get another hard drive, I dont know how much those cost, but $150 is too expensive for something you can do on your computer for a fraction of the price for things to get, and all the games and emulators are totally free.
In this case yo ushould go to the site I linked, read up on emulation, and get a good usb controller or the Hyperkin adapter and PS2 controller, and just play them on your computer.
Oh and since youll be getting the machine, wa she going to download all the games to it for you, or would he also teach you how to do it? Theres videos on youtube of how to do this. Maybe Ill end up watching a ton and hardmod mine.

A softmod by itself doesn't cost much. USB cable adapter, flash drive, and exploitable game.
But the Xbox hard drive is so small...
