Bought a turbo express and a few hours in sound is dead. Everything else works just fine but sound on speaker and line out earphones are really quiet.
Oh and also if someone is able to do a region mod as well.
Anyone here fix these kinda issues?

Are you well versed in repairing these?

check the pcenginefx.com forums
There's a few guys there who specialize in this stuff.
They can fix the caps issue, could install a switchless region mod and even replace the screen with a great new power-saving LCD screen.
Good luck :)

Most of it is capacitor related of which I'm well versed with. TurboExpresses, not so much but I'm sure I could handle it if you can't find anyone.

Well I signed up at pcenginefx. On just waiting on my approval email. Would you be able to do a region mod as well? I have a huge ass stack of pc engine games but not as many tg-16.

I've done a region mod to a TG16 successfully before. The only problem with a TurboExpress is the size as you can't easily cram the circuit out there into something that small (and it flat out didn't work for me for some reason) and finding 8PDT switches is somewhat difficult lately.
But yes, I could handle it. An engineering fellow I know produced a better circuit for the region mod that could probably be shrunk down.

Hmm sounds fancy. What's your price?

A rough guess? $45 for everything. I'll warn you though I have a small backlog of work and come mid/late May I'll have finals. If you're cool with waiting I'm game but I'd advise you to check out other options first.

Ok no luck on pcenginefx forums because I'm still waiting on my approval...
I would like this repaired before I take my trip to Alaska so I can have something to play on the flight there.

What about an emulator on a flash cart and a GBA or DS? Personally I wouldn't take a TurboExpress on a trip in public/with strangers as I'd be worried about either losing it or accidentally damaging it or having anything happen to any of the games.

Bleh Im not a fan of emulation. I'm not entirely worried about losing it but I will consider your advice. I'm not traveling alone either so it would be more than one set of eyes on it.

I can help out done a couple dozen of those units and I have spare parts. Just needs cap fix and yes you can do a region switchless mod. Got all the caps and mod chip in stock.
Only thing is it has to wait until my N64 Everdrive groupbuy is complete or I can give it a whirl before those arrive. Drop me a PM I got the same user name on pcfx.com
