An online friend and I both have All-Star Baseball 2004 (what it's worth, we both have the GameCube version) and we're wondering if it's possible to just release players in that game. We know how to trade and how to move players between the majors and the high and the low minors, but if we have a player we just don't want anymore, can we just cut the player? And if so, how's that done?

I've been able to sort of release players (GC version) by going into the Roster Management under GM Mode, during Franchise play. Under "Free Agent Pool," you can press A over the player you dislike, and simultaneously pick up an available free agent. I don't think the game lets you make your roster smaller than the Major League roster size (at least not during the seaon).

I KNOW you can do it between seasons, but I don't remember how to do it right now.

Go to GM's Office, then Roster Management(I think thats the place where your WHOLE roster is (Majors,High,Low) Go to the player you want to cut. Go all the way to the end of the player's info (by pressing right) and you will see his status (60 day DL, 15 Day DL, High, Low, Active, Release) select Release.

(I have the Ps2 version, but i think its the same for all)
