I stumbled accross this site recently and was wondering if any of you had experience dealing with them:

www.gamereproductions.com (http://www.gamereproductions.com/)

I'd love to buy some of these, but I'd like to hear your feedback first.

Cheers.

Yes they are great but the turn around time is about a month wait, next time you could use the search function, theres about 30 topics about this company.

thenesdump.com is better for NES repros but gamereproductions SNES stuff is nice.

I'm going to share my favourite website, even if I might end up with regrets..

http://www.ocdreproductions.com/

Awesome customer service, awesome price, awesome selection. I say I might regret it simply because every now and then the guy stop all orders because he is trying to catch up so every increase in traffic might delay my orders :P

He accepts custom label for reproduction cart too, which is friggin' awesome. I design my own label for all the games I order there :) I can't recommend Kody's work enough.

He's local to me and I've had a NES game of his before and he soldering job and label work were truly fantastic. I even got to make my own custom SMB2j label I made using the FDS case art which came out fantastic. I can't speak for him currently other than he recently had a baby so orders may end up piling up depending how things go.

Haven't used any reproduction carts but they seem like a great way to play alot of the RPGs that never came out in america, alot of those games do work with the Super Everdrive except star ocean and I'm sure there are others.

Wow speaking of Gamereproductions my order just came in today! I ordered 8 Nes Repros on February 15th & finally receive them, I gotta say I'm very impress with his work on these repros, its worth the wait!:)

I also ordered 8 Snes Repros from Ocdreproductions late last year & Im also very impress with his work as well & I receive my games in less than 2 weeks!

I love both Gamereproductions & Ocdreproductions, both are Awesome! If you want your games faster then go the Odcreproductions & if you have great amount of patience then go with Gamereproductions, either way they both great!!:)

No its all for sale. thenesdump has the best selection, labels, no need to send a donor, and the turn around time is usally just a few days to a week. The absolute best for NES repros!

Ugh, repro, not repo.

I'll also toss my vote in for OCD. Good quality work.

Wait - Is he selling an unauthorized reproduction of Lupin the 3rd using my translation patch?

I can't tell since the artwork doesn't have the logo I made.

Retroquestgames.com Is very good.

They have better techonology to make repros, therefore not more than a week of wait for the carts to arrive.

I don't think many reproduction website ask for the permission of whoever made the translation or hack patch. If you found your work on ocdreproductions and you do not agree with it, you can always try sending them a message. While I agree it might be a bit upsetting to see someone using your work without your permission, I am also very glad such websites exist. I made quite a few repros myself and it was a time consuming process, to see people offering to do the work for me for a very reasonable price, it's very appreciated.

As for a personal comment, if you made a translation patch, congrats! I have so much respect for the people who took of their time to translate and make hacks of games that were unreleased in North America. Thank you for doing this :)

For Famicom titles, I would prefer creating a homebrew repro cart. They're easy to make if you can find the NES-join-01 roms.

Fixed. ;)

I'm pretty sure translation hacks and "repro" carts have the same legal status.

I can vouch for the nes dump as well. Got my Mr. Gimmick repro from him. Great service and is quick to respond to any questions you might have.

I know that what I did is not legal. I've never said that it was legal. (I'm pretty sure I haven't, but I've been at this for over ten years.) But I didn't make these patches with profit in mind, and neither did almost all the other fan translation patch creators, barring one particular exception who's completely batshit insane anyway. I did it for fun and so people could play the games in English.

Edit:
Also, by "unauthorized" I meant by the copyright holder. I can't stop him - or anyone - from making carts with my translation patch. But the people who own Lupin the 3rd distribution rights worldwide are -very- protective of their brand, so much so that I was scared they'd come after me for making the damn patch to begin with.
