Chigusa comes out and on her cape is NEO GEO SNK, this is in 94 when she was returning to the ring, so its really cool they got her to help advertise them. I dont know how much of a fighting game fan she was though.
Any places you wouldnt think youd see an ad for gaming but then you did?

If youve never seen Japanese wrestling before, or Joshi for that matter, I dont know how to really explain stuff really. Go watch this match http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6w1byzpTuiw

It's just so cheesy, that I can't watch it. It's like watching 2 cosplay people in a wrestling match; I can't do it. I can't watch Mexican wrestling for the same reasons, because everyone is wearing those stupid masks. Then again, I quit watching WWE wrestling in the 90s', when Vince turned it into back stage soap opera and less about wrestling.
Sorry!
Back to the subject. I believe I've seen Playstation logos while watching K1 matches held in Europe.

Different countries, different cultures, those Japanese women wrestle better than most American male wrestlers. And theyre not in cosplay.

Of course they're different countries. Those Mexican wrestlers all have to jump off of the top ropes and do those crazy acrobatics. It gets old really fast.
It's much like Cosplay. The chick came into the ring dressed like a mech and the other looks like some wizard from Final Fantasy. It not much different when the Great Kabuki (80s) came into the ring and spit green juice in peoples faces like he was some twisted version of a Ninja. Those chicks wrestle like those dudes in back yard wrestling. It's horrible to watch and I see very little that would make it much better viewing than your average North American wrestling match from that era. It almost a bad as GLOW that was on ESPN in the early 90s.

I'm a huge wrestling fan (I even review the Ring of Honor shows for another website), but I can't stand Mexican wrestling, or lucha libre as it's called down there. It's nothing but acrobatics, almost more like gymnastics than wrestling. It doesn't help that my Spanish is horrible so I can't really understand what the hell is going on.

When I said they dont cosplay I meant female japanese wrestlers 99.9% of the time. maybe some will for liek halloween, but honestly, Ozaki always wore that red outfit in the 90s.

How can you look at it and not see that it looks alot like people that are dressing up for cosplay?
I have never seen an American female wrestler enter the ring looking like she came out of a comic book or videogame. The woman featured in that video, did not look like they came into the ring to wrestle. They looked like they were ripped right out of a videogame of comic. Those costumes looked very much like someone that would show up at a Comic-Con event.

Thats because America isnt as creative of a country as Japan. Also, where do you think anime/video game creators get fashion ideas from? Theres more to Japan than anime/video games. Those women are extremely talented, Chigusa has more talent in her pinky than all US female wrestlers combined and half the males too.
Ozaki always wore that, she is a somebody, so she dresses the part. Again, DIFFERENT CULTURE, so without going on about her dressing like a Final Fantasy character and not taking her seriously, look up what stuff is like over there. And Chigusa doesnt look like a mech.

Ive been working on a 11 hour long video mixtape of japanese and other asian things. so im ok with being called that bri. A girl I met at a party would call me that when Id talk about video games and going to anime conventions.
and at f4wonline more people who watch japanese wrestling love old school american wrestling than stuff nowadays, which is why the watch joshi and puro since theyre the zenith of pro wrestling style wise. if you dont like the women watch any match between kenta kobashi and misawa or jun akiyama or kawada.

The Shimmer roster is thousands of miles above Divas/Knockouts crap. Seriously, if anybody thinks the only female wrestlers are in WWE/TNA they should check out Shimmer stuff.

I pretty much quit watching wrestling about 10 years ago. It's just not that entertaining anymore.
I really loved watching wrestling in the 80s and early 90s. I watched guys like Kerry Von Erich, The Great Kabuki and Cactus Jack wrestle at the Texas Sportatorium, via satellite. Junkyard Dog, Rick Flair, Terry Funk, The Superstar & Super Destroyer and Ricky Steamboat on GCW when it was featured on WTBS. And WWF matches at Madison Square Garden (USA Network) with guys like, The Somoans, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, Tito Santana, The Iron Sheik and Andre The Giant.
I really don't care for where wrestling has gone over the past 15 years. The wrestling matches are poorly executed, the backstage acts are super-cheesy and the characters are very meh.
Yeah, I appreciate the talents of guys like Ray Mysterio and Eddie Guerroro, but I don't want every match to be about acrobatics. You don't want every match to look the same throughout the event.

Theyre really not just about that. And you can say that American matches have the same general moves in them too. Theres been cage matches there, and all kinds of brawls. I far prefer Japanese stuff over Mexican, but I can still see them for being products of their respective cultures.
Oh and if anyone wants the first 4 1/2 hours of my Japanese video mixtape message me. It has a ton of crazy cool stuff from vacation videos people make of different Japan locations, tv clips, commercials, animes, video games, Puro spots, and all kinds of other cool stuff.

Not really, Nintendo of America has their headquarters in Seattle (or right outside Seattle) and baseball is huge in Japan. Given how the value of baseball teams keeps going up and up it's probably the most valuable thing they own.

I never thought it was weird. Though it did explain why the Mariners were always badass in all the Griffey Nintendo games. Even now when you go to see a Mariners game they have a deal where you can link up your DS or 3DS and keep track of stats during the game.
