View Full Version : Wii games that don't require much motion?
Hello all, I got a Wii U last night, and it has rekindled my interest in Wii games that I've missed due to lack of interest. My question is, are there any Wii games that don't make much of the motion control, such as New Super Mario Bros Wii that you hold the Wiimote sideways?

Punch Out plays just like it did on NES and SNES. It has an option for motion controls but I never used it. Metroid other M also plays with basic NES style controls and unlike everyone else I actually enjoyed the game.

Gamestop has it listed for $4.99....maybe I'll have to pick it up.

There are a lot of Wiiware titles that don't require motion. I personally like Dr. Mario Online RX and Sonic 4 Episode 1 so far.

Other than a flick to spin that lame Super Mario Bros generic title was pretty straight forward. I'd throw another vote for Metroid Other M, I don't get the hate at all with that one as it plays great and it gave gamers what they wanted which was the 2D style of gaming to kind of come back which is did as it wasn't free range like Prime. It was like one of those damned if you do or don't situations. Punchout also as already said works like the NES game so motion is minimal to none there too. Klonoa I don't remember requiring it either as a big feature. Muramasa I think doesn't use it much too.

i've never felt as lazy playing a game as I did with Twilight Princess. You can just lay there with your hands at either side with the connecting cord over your lap, making the minimal movements required, and do fine. :)

Klonoa does look interesting. Any idea on the price range of it?

The controls of Wario Land: Shake It are practically the same as NSMBW. Not a great game, but if you liked the other Wario games for the GBA, it's worth a go.

Try lost in shadow. It's a really cool and unique platformer that won't require much movement on your part. It's a really awesome game that will remind you a lot of ico.

Look on the back of the game cases, the Classic and Gamecube controller icons.
If I remember correctly, Xenoblade does not required much movement :)

Like the other guy who beat me to it, Klonoa is dirt cheap.
I'm not sure if it uses much motion, but it does use both parts of the controller and the buttons but there is that Last Story game from the original maker and musician from Final Fantasy that got pretty decent reviews. I've seen it as cheap as $15 at a retail shop used recently.

Goldeneye. You can even use the classic or Gamecube controller for it, if you want to.

I forgot, you can also play Super Smash Bros. Brawl with the Classic controller or Gamecube controller.
