Yeah, if that were some place I could pick that up, i'd drop $250 on it like it was a redhead stripper.

Neat. That sucker is huge.

Accepts TTL, analog, and composite video signals. Fully compatible with IBM CGA, EGA, PGA, VGA and Mac II

Are TTL and analog the kind of RGB you'd need for a video game system? I'm not familiar with those.

Analog isn't rgb, it's regular ntsc television, AFAIK

Check out the pictures at this site:

It's $600 there, BTW.

Erg... for $600 it's still a bit tempting... that's about what you'd pay for a 33" tv anyway...

can't do it, I don't think. It scans at 30 khz horizontal, while video game systems output 15khz. You'd need an upscan converter, which is mad expensive. The only systems you would be able to use are the new generation systems with VGA boxes. Too bad, 33 inches of gaming goodness would be awesome.

Yeah, this monitor won't work. It's scanning rate is too high. Most RGB monitors that work with the game systems don't get bigger than 20 inches. Unless you get a Arcade monitor. Like a Wells-Gardner. They make larger sizes. Or if you go get a Scart TV from England.

You guys are incorrect. You could run game systems without an upscan convertor. If you check out www.gamesx.com, he has a mod for about every decent system to make it run on RGB/SCART. It is his opinion that you get the best and clearest picture this way.

If I'm not mistaken, even these mods require a monitor with 15 kHz, so this monitor still wouldn't work. The internal mods mentioned on the site merely get around trying to find a rare and often expensive RGB cable for most systems.

Well, the monitor does claim to support composite video, and I've never seen 30 KHz horizontal on a composite signal. So it might work.

Open mouth, insert foot. Sorry, missed the details.

Sure, it might work with composite video, but who cares? It's all about RGB baby!

Well, obviously. But if it supports composite NTSC, then that at least means it can handle 15 KHz horizontal scanning. So it's a start, anyway. You might have to do some freaky connector hacking, though, and I'd probably just blow myself up in the process.

I'm sorry but I think you are incorrect. If I'm not mistaken there are tons of things that can handle a composite video signal, but can't sync to 15 KHz.

Okay, so what kind of video sources generate a 30 KHz composite video signal?

call me an idiot, but why dont you just buy a nice big TV? Whats the difference?

The difference, is the difference between your wife or girlfriends ass, and J. Lo's ass.

or for those of us that like things up front, the difference between your girlfriend's breasts and Angelina Jolie's breasts.

However this analogy does not fit properly in my case, since we're talking about upsizing, not the other way around.

(My fiancee is either going to laugh or kill me when I show her this post. Take bets now!)
