Anyone played with one of these? I've been holding out on buying a 6+ button controller for PC emulation for a while, and this Saturn-esque controller looks promising, but as we all know there can be a vast gap between looks and the actual play of a controller. So, can anyone either vouch for this or warn me to head for the hills?

Thanks!

I've heard that these things are a cheap build and that they ONLY work on Genesis games under a specific PlaySEGA service. Not quite sure if these claims are legit but I wouldn't doubt it.

Apparently, SEGA use to give them away with a 3 month subscription to playsega.com, which has been down since 2010.

From scouring different threads across handfuls of forums it appears that there are different versions of this controller with different ranges off quality floating around. I think I'll play it safe and leave it be.

Just by the pic it looks like it's built better than the SNES USB pad I bought about a year ago.

I got 2 of them shipped for $14 a while back. They're ok when compared to the real deal. They do feel super light making them seem cheap. Over all id say pick it up but dont be surprised if they crap out on you if you are an aggressive player.

Sorry, but this is wrong.
I got 2 of these for 11$ shipped a while back and Im very pleased with them. I use them to play MAME and anything else on my computer. They actually work very well and are almost identical to saturn controllers. In terms of lasting quality Id say they should work well as long as you dont treat them horribly. They do feel a little light compared to saturn controllers but I wouldnt say they feel cheap or junky.

Id assume that the cheap price tag is due to sellers with large quantities of these for sale.

I was wondering about getting a couple of these since I just bought a Raspberry Pi to play around with. I think that I may go ahead and pull the trigger on it.

There's some discussion and pictures of various types of Saturn-style controller reissues for the PC here:
