Recently did a retrospective on this highly underrated 1990 Kemco release for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Thought I'd share it with the DP crew. Feedback appreciated! Feel free to post your own memories too!

Very nice video! I totally agree with you that it does not deserve the hate it receives. It is a game that was made for a younger audience so it might not have the depth or challenge that other NES titles have, but for what it is its a pretty good for a Nintendo game.
I never had birthday blowout when I was a kid, but I did rent crazy castle back in the day. I did enjoy crazy castle for the same reasons, its a simple game but very playable and enjoyable (especially for younger audiences). I liked this review more than the Birthday blowout review done by that angry guy..

Thanks man! Crazy Castle is another excellent Bugs Bunny game. Perhaps a little more refined than Birthday Blowout even. Would love to take a look at that title in a video somewhere down the line.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on how to improve on this format? What about the black and white?

i remember getting this game for christmas one year and my parents were both extremely upset that I beat it with in 2 days.

I certainly remember enjoying it as a kid. Today it is hard to sit and play but it most certainly isn't the wors game ever by any means. i'd play this over crazy castle anyway (though I remember enjoying that as a kid also.)

Maybe the problem is that I didn't play it as a kid.
I got a cart at a FuncoLand/GameStop for like $4 when I was in my late teens/early 20s, and (I think the Angry Nerd said the same) I just played it until I either I got a game over or I finished it. That was within a couple hours. Wasn't a bad game but not great either. A fairly average experience.
I'm going to guess the difficulty was indeed balanced towards little kids, which is probably why I finished it relatively quickly. I do have my own memories of Tiny Toons 1 and Kid Dracula for the Game Boy. Had a frustrating time with them (would have killed for the JP version of TTA, which had passwords! :D), never beat KD as a kid. Played as an adult and beat it in like 20 minutes first try.

No prob.
I think the black and white is just fine, I also liked how you had many shots of the actual game in the video.
Keep the intro nice and short, thats a definite plus in review videos. I hate having to sit through multiple title screens or some stupid theme song for a 5 minute clip.
Your clip starts after 15 seconds, the avgn one above starts after a minute and 15 seconds... just sayin..

Thanks man! I enjoy the work done at Classic Game Room and wanted this to reflect the pacing of that to some extent.
