Hello everyone, I've lurked these forums for a year or two now and have found you all to be very knowledgeable in regards to classic gaming systems. I recently picked up a TG16 and it's in great condition, unfortunately though there was no AC adapter included. Luckily I have a Genesis model 1, 2, and Game Gear cord sitting around. I have read that it is safe to use a Genesis model 1 adapter with a TG16 but just thought I'd make a thread to see if there's a definitive answer to this? I am unable to even find a listing for an NEC brand adapter on eBay so I'm really hoping it will not fry my "new" system.

Thanks so much to anyone who has any input on this!

If you have a US TG-16, the only stock output is RF. It's the Japanese PC Engine which can use a GEN-1 AV Cable. For the TG-16, beyond modding the system, you'd need to find a Turbo Booster, which has Stereo AV, but is VERY expensive these days.

My apologies, I accidentally typed AV when I meant AC. Lack of sleep mixed with copious amounts of web surfing can mess with you sometimes. Luckily I have the RF cable for the system. I'd love to find a TurboBooster Plus though.

LOL. Yes I think a Genesis model 1 AC will work on the TG-16.

Seems to be working good, thanks for the confirmation!
