Both came out around Windows 95 era I think. They were at least on CD and 2D.

First game was about took place with a group of friends, you were taken to an island, and there was all this ancient written symbols you had to learn to progress in the game. Within ten minutes you walked from the beach through forest and into a big maze where you had to know the language to get throug hto the other side. Graphics were drawn style, not cartoony, seemed like a serious game, but there were no enemies, so a basic type of adventure game.

Second game is cartoony action platformer type. I really dont remember the plot, it was played at a friends house, so I couldnt spend too much time with it. The main character was fat, used rockets and all kinds of kiddy weapons like slingshots and toy guns, even burped, ugh. Yeah, cant remember too much of it this was a long time ago, but it was fun.

You sound like you're describing Myst in the first one.

I kind of wanted to say myst as well but that group of friends thing threw me off, that doesnt quite fit, for some reason i also wanted to say martian gothic but i know it cant be that

The 2nd one i have no clue, boogerman maybe? I know its not rocket knight adventure either but ehh, maybe that? Toejam and earl? Beavis and butthead

The second one sounds just a little bit like Arcade America by 7th Level. It played a little bit like Donkey Kong, with hand-drawn graphics, featuring a fat kid in a baseball cap as the hero. There was quite a bit of crude humor in it, too.

YES! It is Arcade America!

And the first game is most likely just one of the million Myst wannabes that came out that no one really played..

If thats the case probably the first one was made by a obscure garage based game company as they were popping up everywhere back then. (download.com was their main hub for gettin their software out there and if they could make enough coin off there they would go through a small end distribution company and end up at like walmart or staples as a 5 dollar or less pc game)

The first game kind of sounds like King's Quest VI: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow, which is the best KQ game out there. But I'm not completely sure.

Was it first person perspective, or could you see your character?

Strangely, that was the first thing that came to me as well. If it's not KQVI, you should go and play it anyway.
