View Full Version : Super Street Fighter 2 Something weird about it with pics

I just got a Super Street Fighter 2 for Snes and everything about it is normal cartridge is perfect. The problem is when I win and they do their little smack talk at the end they are in some forein text. x_x The thing that makes this weird is that it is a USA release. I got it from a young kid and his grandmother.
Did someone just switch the insides or what? If anyone can help I am open to suggestions.

you mean they use japensese fonts? or that they talk in Japenese? Also, how much do you know about where the kid or Grandmother got it? (maybe Granny bought it from a taiwan site)

Don't know about the chips -- possibly they put a Japanese ROM/board in the US case accidentally?
Basically though, the "foreign" writing on screen is definitely Japanese.
It's possible the ROM has both languages on it, and for some reason it's picking the wrong one? Dunno.

Maybe someone has make a joke, and just change the boards. That someone else has now a Japanese cartridge with the USA game inside.
Japanese games work great on USA consoles. I play myself japanese games on my NTSC console.

I'm guessing it's an accidental language configuration switch in the cartridge.
