I have a copy of Snes Shadowrun. The problem is it starts to play on 2 of my original Snes's, then goes to a black screen. Then tried it on my mini Snes, Snes portable, and another original snes and the game works fine. Tried cleaning the cart contacts, and the cart connector on both Snes's that it won't work on. Even took the connector's apart and cleaned them. Checked all the pins and nothing looks bent or bad. Even tried putting in a new connector, no difference. Solder connections look ok on the motherboards. So at this point I'm stumped. Anyone else have this happen or have any suggestions? I appreciate anyone's help with this, thank you.

Just to clarify, it works 100% on some SNES consoles but not others?

It works fine on an snes 2 and 1 original snes and a protable snes. But won't play on 2 other original snes's I have.

Tried replacing the cart connector on the 2 that won't play it and cleaned the connector underneath and no difference. Plus the 2 that won't play it, play all my other snes games fine. So I'm stumped at this point.

Has anyone else had this happen and how did you fix it? Thanks.

can you trace the circuit board, look for any loosely soldered points or over soldered points. also look for bubbling caps.
if it plays for a moment and then shuts down, chances are you have a bad cap that is under charging or over charging.
replacing that cap should resolve the issue.
also check for weird readings on your transistors, those will send out weird symptoms like this as well.
at this point, i'm fishing. the most obvious thing is the simplest.
so i would go back to the pins, that is generally the most common problem. replace the pins normally handles this issue quickly.
so check that you didn't install a faulty replacement.

Checked everything suggested with no difference. So I found another of my SNES carts that looks just like the Shadowrun pcb and it showed a few garbled graphics.

Thanks for the reply. Tried cleaning the cart slot and underneath, no difference. How do I check to see if the ppus is bad? Thanks.
