TV Powww! (whos really old?)

[Parodius Duh!]

Anybody remember TV Powww? It was a gameshow where you would call up to win prizes by yelling "pow!" over the phone into a supposedly voice activated Fairchild and later on, Intellivision. Every local station had their own version of the show with a different host, which was broadcast during Saturday morning cartoons. TV use to be awesome. Anyway, I was talking with a co-worker and he reminded me of this show, figured Id share a few clips. It was an interesting concept and Im surprised nothing like this carried over into the 8 bit era...

I lived in NJ then, and the NYC station WPIX did this, so it was called TV Pixxx. I don't know how many Xs it actually has. I don't know when they started it, but it's news to me that they used the Channel F, I thought it was just Intellivision. Ours was on during the week after school, if I'm remembering right.

I remember TV Pow! (or however many "w"s it was); I even got to play it once (on one of the Green Bay WI stations). I didn't do well...

I definitely remember the WPIX channel 11 edition. Awful!
