View Full Version : ROTK II (SFC) in a clamshell case?

So I was at a local game store and the dude had something interesting:

The Super Famicom version of Romance of the Three Kingdoms II, but in a clamshell case, shrinkwrapped... and the shrinkwrap had the Koei logo on the side where the case opens.

He also had the standard edition that comes in a regular box.

He only wanted $15 for it.

Now, my question: Should I grab it? Is this some like rare edition of ROTKII? Or are these clamshell case editions actually quite common and not worth the trouble?

Thanks in advance.

It looked a lot like that, yeah.

Well, $15 for an unopened SF game is pretty cool. If you like the series why not, and theres no point in opening it if you cant read Japanese. On Ebay there were no bidders for a loose cart of the SF version.

I don't know about real value but there's one on ebay with a Buy-it-Now.

Yeah, I was thinking of grabbing it just to have a shelf display piece (I already have the English version of ROTK II), though now I have to conserve money to fix my old gaming comp.

According to the dude at the store tho, imports hardly ever sell, so likely it'll still be there months from now.

Am I the only one who clicked on this because I thought the poster had found Return of the King 2 for Super Famicom? (Pirate cart obviously, if it existed...) I felt like a goober when I saw what he was actually talking about. Amazing the difference one T can make! :)
