After a short-lived beta run (http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/04/left-4-dead-2-linux-beta-is-live/), Valve has deemed Left 4 Dead 2 on Linux to be complete. The Linux version and the Extended Mutation System (http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/13/left-4-dead-2-steam-beta-introduces-extended-mutation-system/) now join the full release of Left 4 Dead 2 on Steam.
Left 4 Dead 2, which first launched in late 2009, hasn't slowed down these past four years. The Steam version has received numerous updates, DLC add-ons and even Steam Workshop support (http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/23/steam-workshop-support-coming-to-left-4-dead-2/). As of last September, the Left 4 Dead series had eclipsed 12 million sales (http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/30/left-4-dead-series-sells-more-than-12-million/).http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif (http://www.joystiq.com)Left 4 Dead 2 Linux leaves the beta safe house (http://www.joystiq.com/2013/07/04/left-4-dead-2-linux-leaves-the-beta-safe-house/) originally appeared on Joystiq (http://www.joystiq.com) on Thu, 04 Jul 2013 00:30:00 EST.
