Made a relatively large update to my site:
http://www.classicgaming.com/japangaming

Changes:
-Added Saturn and MegaDrive print ads sections. This was a big addition. About 100 ads total. Had these scans laying around for ages, and finally put them up. I've got a handful of SFC and a few PSX ones that I'll put up soon. To see them, just go to the bonus section.
-added Splatter House 3 (MD) and Metal Slug X (PSX) scans (thanks Dire 51 for the scans)
-fixed some broken pages
-added a few links, and took a few dead ones out

HOORAY! More print ad scans! *still badly wants originals* :D

In case anyone wants to know what they are, take a look at GaijinPunch's site! VERY awesome site for import info! Also, if anyone is interested, I'd be happy to show you what I did with some of the print ads I got. It wasn't cheap but it's DAMN cool!

I actually picked up a few more recently... more than I would've wanted to pay, but at least I got to pick out the good ones I wanted instead of paying heaps for about 40% mediocre, 40% crap, and 20% good stuff.

I'll post those when I get them, but I already know you'll kill for one of 'em. :)

And knowing is half the battle... :)

I'll be making updates more regularly, but I'm going to go SQL. Gamespy gives a nice little interface for creating the databases... I'm just not sure if I can load a tab-delimited file into a table since they don't give shell accounts. I'd hate to put all the info in one by one.

When it's done, it'll be much easier to navigate. A search page should be a snap!

Oooo I would love to get that Alisia Dragoon Print ad if you had an extra :D Where do you get them from?

You just gotta get lucky really. They're not exactly readily availble here. There are a few stores that have them from time to time though. If I only went to Akihabara more often these days.

I sense a little... anger with the Sailor Moon series. I enjoy the series, but then again my common sense is always in question.

Are those two games really that rare? Because I've been seeing them on the Bay complete for not-so-bad prices (the $20 range).

Which Sailor Moon games? The SFC ones or the Duo ones?

I've got a deep seeded hate for Sailor Moon since I was an anime fan. I was watching anime a lot when it came out, and I thought it was shit.

Rare Sailor Moon games:
The Saturn/PSX one
Megadrive one sort of (but not expensive)
And I think a couple of the SFC ones... can't remember which.

Neither of the Turbo ones are rare at all.

Remember -- rare doesn't mean expensive. One of the hardest games for me to locate was Bonanza Bros. for the Turbo Duo, but it only cost me like $40 when I found it, and that was the height of the old turbo games.

Shameless Plug:
Another udpate coming this weekend. Changes include:
-A cleaner menu at the top
-A slightly compacted interface ( dropped the bottom frame and put the mandatory ads down there)
-New layout for each games' page. Got rid of the goofy blue/light blue colored tables and went for a much nicer look.
-Chucked all the HTML files. Everything, except the front page, will be SQL/Perl driven.
-will also add some PC-FX print ads that I've had for a while.
-Most poorly scanned/cropped games now look nicer.

Future Updates:
-First and foremost will be a search page. I think I've figured out how I'm going to do it... just need to get to doing it.
-Updated bonus section... this I've not thought about much, but will make it consistent w/ the main pages look.
-Will try to do something to keep fresh content there. I'm running out of the "good" games to post, and the obscure ones are hard to locate. Thinking of doing some more wallpapers, but not sure how popular that would be. Open to suggestions.

Jumps up and down in glee with news of the updates :D

Hehe. :)

Am also toying with ways I can make it easier for other people to make updates... where I can just push a button and say, "Yeah, cool -- make the update". I'd have to write it, which isn't hard, but I'm not sure how Gamespy deals w/ users uploading files (jpgs in this case)

Okay -- udpates are done.
I'll start working on a Search function now. Everything should look a LOT cleaner though, and I've fixed a ton of the images.

I also added a Tatsujin-Ou Sampler Video... go to the bonus section, and check out the video clips... don't drool too much.
