Your best bet is really to put a watch ebay and have a decent idea on what you want to pay. A friend of mine picked up 2 pairs with NES controllers for about $20 shipped a couple weeks ago. A bit high, but since I'd seen them going for about $15 for just the grips I felt okay on it and we split them. $10 for each with an extra NES pad wasn't bad.
Unfortunately though, they will not fit a PCE pad and will go around a SMS pad but are a bit loose. They do make the NES pads much less awful though, I can see why people like them.

I've still got them. School started up and am teaching new courses this year and am a head varsity coach and have 3 kids age 4 and under at home. I don't really check my e-mail linked to this account very often any more. I'm not interested in digging them out and taking photos unless I have a firm idea of if it is worth my time, which is quite limited right now. I'll give a description. I have 3 sets. One set has been chewed on my dog. The other two sets are nice.
