Gamecube Gameboy Player crashes

I've had the GB Player for Gamecube for a while now and in the beginning I had absolutely no problems, but in recent times it has crashed on me both on startup, mid-game, and when changing/ejecting gamepaks. I haven't used it profusely but I assume it's dirty. I've tried cleaning out the connector at the bottom of the Gamecube where the Player connects and still nothing. I've tried it on another system and it didn't make a difference. I have tried using a cartridge with alcohol tipped pins as a substitute for a cleaning tool (note: I don't believe I ever had it on when I was doing that). Now I assume that either the pins are ruined or I need a different cleaning tool. Any advice?

Tried different discs at all?

Could be something loose inside the console, I want to say ribbons were used but don't take my word for it.

I just think you need to get the tri screw driver tool and open up the games your trying to play on it..

I have two of these units and neither will even detect the game unless I open the games and clean them..
