Help! Taz-Mania for Game Gear

Excuse me if I sound like a total idiot, but how do you get past the boulder at the beginning of level 1? I've tried everything and I still die. Is there a way to do this, or did they forget to playtest it and it really is impossible?

I've beaten it before but I forget how. I had trouble with the minecart maze on the next level though. Look up a guide on gamefaqs. Somebody should have one about how to get through the whole game.

OK, I guess I didn't realize those were roast chicken and that I could bend down and eat them. I made it through that level, and actually got to level 4 before I got a game over.
