So these are rare Japanese commercials of Sega's first and RARE video game console, the SG-1000. I've always wanted to own one of these babies but they are kinda pricey 'eh?
Anyway, I thought these commercials were cool. Interestingly, this appears to be the first use of the famous "SAYYYYY-GAAAAA" voice jingle, way before Sonic The Hedgehog and even before the Master System intro.
Anyone care to enlighten the rest of the class about the SG-1000?

That Japanese girl is just adorable, that voice makes me chuckle.
Looks like an interesting system and I love Exerion. Fantastic game. I would imagine that these are hard to find, especially in North America.
I look at some of these games and they really remind me of the Colecovision

Wow, great commercials! Kind of remind me of the old Lego Maniac commercials where the kid was dressed up like the characters from the playsets.
Are we certain that SEGA "bumper" wasn't added by the video editor/uploader?
The SG-1000 was very similar to the old MSX and Colecovision, which is why many of its games have been ported to the Coleco by homebrewers. Carts were playable on most Japanese Master Systems. The games aren't that hard to find, but the systems are expensive. I have an Everdrive flash cart for my US MasterSystem and I play Sg-1000 roms on it.

Yes, the SG-1000 was never released in North America (though its computer counterpart the SC-3000 was released in Europe, Australia and New Zealand).
I've heard that while the JP Master System can technically play them, the colors are wrong and it makes games harder to play.

I think the color deal is only an issue on non-Japanese master systems. The Japanese Mark III, the first SMS, plays the games as intended I believe. In any case, take it from me, I've tried every SG-1000 game on the Master Everdrive and if the colors are off, it's barely noticeable and doesn't stop you from playing the games.

The colors are off no matter what Mark III or Master System you're using.
Hustle Chummy is on game where enemies will blend with the background, and Congo Bongo looks awful on a Master System. Bomb Jack looks atrocious as well when played on a Master System or Mark III. And I recall playing a racing game; maybe Monaco GP, where the colors where awful on a Mark III.
I finally purchased a SG-1000 II and a Card Catcher. Playing the SG-1000 on native hardware is the only way to go in my eyes.
