Another topic about a cool looking game I saw in an old gaming mag that I can find very little info on. From the screenshots it looks very similar to Hyperdrive from Midway, but it came out a couple years earlier. I've never seen it in the wild but it looks pretty cool. I'm a sucker for Wipeout-style futuristic racers. Any info anyone has on this game would be appreciated, thanks

I haven't played this one yet, but I did read a bit on it a while back. You might find out more information if you use the full title - Neo Kobe 2045 Speed King (http://junkerhq.net/MiscScans/SpeedKing/info/). There's a lot of random text quotes and stuff that flashes through the intro movie, interesting...anyway, some famous Konami game craft make appearances in here, just as Vic Viper was supposed to appear in an arcade game of the same name, Vic Viper, which was cancelled. I don't know if there's any connection between the games, but you can hear that cancelled game's soundtrack via the KONAMI SHOOTING COLLECTION compilation CD. Nothing too amazing, but decent '90s rave-type stuff.
