Any vector graphics programmers out there?

Here's what I'd love to play:

- Graphics type: Vector (wide-screen and split down the middle). I'm thinking vector to raster conversion like what MAME does.
- Two ships in plan view.
- 3x3 screens that scroll to follow the ships (small mini-map at the top that shows entire play area).
- Players set traps for each other (force fields, electrical barriers, mines, etc...).
- Variable win scenarios (including first to a certain number of opponents destroyed).
- Configurable handicaps to allow for various skill levels to square off against each other (number of shields, etc...).
- Level editor for making and saving your own mazes.

It would be like a cross between Asteroids and Tank on a scrolling playfield.

Sounds similar (but not quite the same) to Jed Margolin's Warp Speed proposal, which was implemented, then turned into Star Wars when Lucas licensed the rights to Atari.

Jed's original proposal: http://www.jmargolin.com/patents/atari1.pdf

Some of Jed's later ideas are similar to the ones you mentioned. Sounds like it could have been a really cool game.

Somewhere on Jed's site, within the Vax mail and memo archives, are more mentions of the game in progress...
