Hi all. I am super proud to say that I finally found a Famicom to buy. It was sold to me by a friend as is so if nothing more, I gained 30+ Famicom games and a neat looking system for my wall.

I found a model 1 genesis AC adapter and have been using a standard RF from the states. I turned my tele to 95/96 and besides getting complete random pixelation on the game Baseball, I cant get any of the games I have (currently 6) to work besides showing a blue screen. I have cleaned the contacts on the games and on the system. I stopped the weird noise coming from the Mic on controller 2 so now I am just kind of waiting to gather the rest of the games I bought and hope at least a couple work.

Anyone know if there is a reputible person fixing these systems if I cant get this one working? Any other ideas would be great. The system is stamped with 1983 on the base and 1984 on the mobo inside. Thanks for reading!

It could be that you just need to clean it more. In my experience, even if everything looks good it could still not be clean enough. If you repeatedly insert and remove a clean cart, are you able to pull new dirt from that cart?

Are you using an HDTV? It might not like Japanese RF.

This console has better odds to work for SDTVs.

Thank you both for your response. I have started my in depth cleaning of the system now and its so odd the graphics im getting from screens when I can start it up. My tele is a newer one but not HD. I don't currently have an older tele but keeping a look out for one to replace this (garbage picked Free) newer television.

I absolutely love the hardware look of the Famicom.

You're better off having this AV Modded.

I don't know anyone off the top of my head that can do it, but this dude might be able to: http://www.game-tech.us/

Not vouching at all, just saying I know he mods consoles and can probably get the job done.

Could it be a problem with using a US RF adapter on it? Maybe if I get time today or tomorrow I may try out mine since I still haven't tested it since I bought it. I know that my games work since I have played them on a Famiclone.

Yeah, I have enough clean games and am not pulling up any more dirt from the system, I have my doubts that the system works. Ill pick up a famiclone soon as it would probably be the cheapest way to make sure the games work. At least I have the system to look at.

I've run into a similar problem with mine. Basically it out puts video and audio but its very weak even an older tv (1992 Sony).

My guess is the mobo is working but the board with the a/v out and the power input had gone bad or a component on it has gone bad. Either easy I'm still trying to figure out what's going on with mine

I just use a single RCA cable from the AV port to an RCA-to-coax adapter. You can also use an old-school Atari style switchbox. This might get Baseball to work. I'm not sure what the blue screen error is, I've never encountered that.

A blue screen means that the game isn't being read properly so you have to clean either the game or the cart slot.

Thank you all. I will continue the cleaning. The system hasn't been played in 20 years +. Cant wait to get this working.
