Has anyone else noticed that eBay's saved search results are not working properly on mobile platforms? Originally I though this was my phone's app ( official android ebay app ). But I found out that if I use my phone Internet browser and switch between Desktop mode and Android mode for the I get different results. Basically the filtering is not working with there mobile saved searches. It amazes me on how something so simple and obvious could be broken.

I just spent 5 minutes trying to find out where to submit a bug and all I got was a phone number and they're closed for the night.

So here I'am ranting about ebay. Just curious if anyone else is having this issue.

I tried the mobile app some time ago and found it to be problematic and a hurdle to shopping on eBay.
eBay has been fraught with errors for many years now. I can't imagine what goes on behind closed doors there that they constantly are tweaking their interfaces only to make them more problematic to use.

I use the desktop site on my phone.
The latest addition to their interface is these new overlaid pop-up messages saying how many people are watching per hour, and "you just got outbid", and other needless crap to clog up and slow down the user experience.
Some of the embedded ads will overlay on top of the "confirm bid" window and when trying to confirm a bid you instead load an advertisement.

It's too bad sellers haven't organized class-action suit against ebay for not providing a level playing field. Some sellers get shortchanged because their products aren't going to show up in eBay's default search results.

Before eBay made their preformatted item description mandatory for videogames, a seller who didn't use the eBay item description would have their item excluded from most search results.

So many problems with eBay, but for me it is still one of the best avenues for browsing and purchasing international videogame items.

I don't get any sort of ads like these when using either the app or full version. Do you get these often? :(

This is another one that I've not experienced (being forced to use their own product descriptions). I do recall the whole "your shit won't show up in a search" thing when not using the eBay product descriptions though, which is total garbage. I try to never use their product descriptions because they force you to use specific shipping rates.

two thing I hate about the mobile app

1. I can't pay with paypal and use my paypal balance + CC. It will only let me use the CC to pay it in full

2. People who use it to post items 99% of the time NEVER fill out the item listing correctly, never actually put a description, and never take photos, they use the stock photos.

The app is a buggy piece of S*** and everyone should stay far from it as possible. Several times I had to help customers with issues caused by the app. People cannot pay, they have a hard time changing the address, etc. A few months ago a customer messaged me to see if I would take a certain amount for an item. I agreed and I made it into a best offer where it would automatically accept her price and I expected her to buy it within a few hours. For some reason she absolutely could not see this best offer and of course I was away for the rest of the day and could do nothing to help her. Overnight someone else put a best offer price on it and it was the same exact price she was offering, so she lost out on it. She then blames me and insisted that I made a contract with her to sell it to her first and that I should cancel the sale to that other person and blah blah blah. I said there was no such thing until you actually commit to buying it and I have no idea why she couldn't see the best offer. After a few rude emails from her which blamed me for all sorts of deceptions and being a bad seller, it turns out that she was using the mobile app from her cel phone and it never picked up on the best offer change that I made for her. Even pointing this out to her, she refused to accept ebay could make this mistake and she replied back with all sorts of venom towards me and my business practices. Whatever!

also the times get off. I had this happen today.

I was on the confirm bid screen, watched the time go down to like 5 seconds, hit bid. It goes to the item screen and wth... it say like 45 seconds and more bids continued.

the app is great for alerts and managing your watch/purchase/selling lists. I use it daily just for that but anything major, I use the PC.

Shouldn't this be in Off Topic?
