I have a friend who wants to play minecraft offline on his 360. He is anti-DRM and wanted to know what part of Minecraft is available to play without xbox live, signing in, playing on a standard xbox 360. I told him I would ask here for him. What part of the game is available this way? Again, he is looking to legally play a game on the 360 offline. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ummmm, I just got the game but you can make a level and get stuff and craft and build stuff. Still not sure what I am doing. Did not know there are other modes available. There is a peaceful mode with no monsters and other difficulty levels.

Are you playing this game offline?

Everything is available offline, the only thing you really need online for is multiplayer but even that you don't really need it as you can do local split screen if you want.

Can anyone confirm that the game can be loaded from the disc
Without logging into xbox live or signing into profile
If you are required to do either thing, then its not truly offline :)
Just curious if the xbox live service comes to an end in the future, if you will be able to still play the game.

Well you need to sign into a profile to save, profiles can be used on or offline. You can play any and every xbox disk(and digital IF it is on the system it was originally purchased to) game offline but you need a profile(which never needs to be online) to match your save to. Wouldnt be too worried about XBOX live going offline any time soon, XBOX should be supported for at least 2 years, and now that MS has expanded their server farm 20 fold(15k > 300k) I cant imagine the service ending for at least 4 years
