VERY NICE!

Not a big fan of the C64 sounds on the Genesis, but overall the music, sounds, and graphics are pretty impressive!

The Genesis / Mega Drive always did kick ass with electronic beats.

I am gonna try this on my Everdrive on my 54" TV with the sub turned UP!

That Axelay-like effect starting at 2:49 is pretty impressive!

Yeah it's pretty trick. What I really dig is the 3D DNA effect going on at 2:27. Would love to know how he did it.

Well - I tried it. I guess I missed the part that it's for 50hz PAL only. Will run for a couple minutes on an NTSC Genesis but with graphical glitches here and there - and then it crashes. That's too bad - but I understand.

The title of this thread should be re-named to : "Overdrive - pretty cool new MEGA DRIVE demo" :(:(:(:(:(:(

It's actually a quite simple effect (as is the Axelay effect) that uses vertical scrolling adjustments every scanline... here's a sample: http://kristofverbiest.blogspot.com/2010/11/oldskool-demo-effect-in-silverlight.html

I love all the old tech demos for the c64,spectrum, amiga and Atari st computers.

Its always cool to see these effects that were never implemented in games and just what the system was capable of in the right hands.

its even better when is a Genesis/Mega Drive tech demo :)

No not exactly. It will run on a stock MEGA DRIVE because it's PAL only. On a Genesis some of the special effects are garbled and it will crash about half-way though.

They had a handful of carts available which I think are all gone now. But they would only run on a PAL Mega Drive anyways.

These guys should work with watermelon, they are looking for sprite artists for snes and genesis. Hope Fonzie will contact them!

Well, I mean that it runs on standard hardware, out of the box. I suppose it could be modified to run on an NTSC console if it runs on a PAL one.
