Customer service really has gone down the toilet.

I call A-Z Videogames in Canada (I live in the States) because they seem to have a fairly nice selection of Super Nintendo games in stock.

I ask the guy on the phone about a couple of games. He asks me if I could e-mail him my requests. Fair enough. Maybe he's busy. I e-mail my list of about 5 games and ask about price and condition.

I get a response back two days later. He gives me the price in US dollars for ONE of the games I ask about (Castlevania 4 for $28... yeah right. I can already tell I won't be doing business with these folks.) His reply regarding the other games was "I don't know", "Maybe, I'll check, "I think so", and "I think we sold that." What was he doing the two days since the original e-mail?

I e-mail him back, asking for prices and condition AGAIN. No response for two days. I e-mail AGAIN. No response for three days.

Being that I love to be treated badly by lazy retailers, I call today and ask for ONE GAME. His response?

"Can you e-mail me?"

:hmm:

No, I cannot e-mail you.

The vast majority of online video game stores must not be interested in actually selling their games. $28 for Castlevania IV may sound bad, but I've seen much worse. If you're buying online, always check eBay, and make stores like that your absolute last resort. For something as common as Castlevania IV though, post something in the buy/sell forum. Until recently I probably had 3 copies of it, I'm sure somebody else from here has an extra.
