I'm looking for suggestions for games with jungle themes. My job is taking me to the middle of nowhere in Cameroon for a few weeks and I fancy playing something that reflects the surroundings.

I'll only have a PSP and a laptop with me, so suggestions should be playable on those natively or by emulation. I'm sure you all love a challenge.

I remember the opening to Flashback being good and jungley, as was the gbc metal gear game. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

I was musing the other day that out of the 8 TurboChip games I own for the TG-16, half of them have a "caveman" theme or vibe to them, that being Bonk's Adventure, Bonk's Revenge, Legendary Axe, and New Adventure Island, all of which are fun and I'd recommend. Obviously there's also the Jungle Hunt and Congo Bongo arcade classics.

For emulation, you could always go with Adventure Island, or Pitfall if you want to go way back to the past.

For actual PSP games, I have no clue since I never owned one.

First stage of Contra.

As far as Jungle Hunt goes, I highly endorse the brilliant 2600 port.

No mention of Donkey Kong Country, Jungle Strike, or The Jungle Book yet.

Jungle King is better than everything else mentioned so far (besides Adventure Island, that is).

I actually enjoy Pitfall 2, too.

Lode Runner. Has real jungley music too. Simple puzzle platformer.

If you have a Saturn emulator on that PSP, check out the Congo FPS

Quite a few Jurassic Park SNES and Genesis games could be emulated on PC.

I won't recommend the game because I think it's beyond terrible but Amagon on NES takes place in a jungle.

There were actual PC versions of Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure and The Jungle Book, you might opt for those versions rather than emulating console versions.

Totally forgot to mention Roar for the Genesis, I think it would be right up your alley.

via SNES emulation:
Timon & Pumbaa's Jungle Games.
Also, Yoshi's Island is kind of junglish.

World of Warcraft has a couple of jungle zones. Make a trial account, make your way to one of those zones, and /dance. :P

Survival Kids for Game Boy Color!! My fave "jungle-themed" game, and great for on-the-go, it's all about surviving on a semi-deserted jungle island.

I am sure there's a GB/GBC/GBA emulator for PSP out there somewhere, and i would highly recommend this title!!!!
